CONNECTION THROUGH MUSIC
As a band we have always tried to focus on portraying feelings and emotions through creativity, which we hope that people will be able to relate to around the globe, and in that way we create a connection...

WHO ARE WE?
Fans Unlike Any Others..
..True Gents are an 7 piece band from Scotland with "a special vein of atmospheric, psych-infused jangle pop..” The ‘Spill
TRUE GENTS were formed by School friends Euan Nicol and Toby Jeffery in 2006. They would meet up in the haunting woods of Invermay, Perthshire and work on songs late into the day. Shortly after writing songs together the pair entered and won a singer/songwriter competition at Dougie Macleans Perthshire Amber which earned them the title ‘cult songsmiths’ and stood them in good stead to build a band.
Over the past few years Jeffery/Nicol have been working hard to continually progress as writers by introducing different elements into the band and adapting their styles.
Working with talented local producers like Robin Wynn-Evans (Manic Street Preachers, Sam Brown, The View, Dodgy), and David Macfarlane (TRUE GENTS, Red Pine Timber Company, The New Madrids) the True Gents have created a back catalogue of music which has received warm reviews over the years.
Their line up changed not so long ago, original members left include songwriting duo Jeffery/Nicol (guitars/vocals)
With the introduction of - Stu (the thunder) Bennett on lead guitar, the hard hitting Toole brothers on the rhythm section and Rea Pirnie/Rosemary Stanford on backing vocals (beautiful vocals like the sirens in greek mythology drawing sailors to their peril).
The bands sounds have been described as psych-infused jangle-pop and include influences from Indie, Folk-Rock and psych pop influences, ranging from many of the bands influences such as Turin Brakes, The Byrds, Magnolia Electric Company, Spiritualized, Andrew Bird, Sufjan Stevens, the Beta Band to name but a few…
As a band the True Gents have played venues, pubs and festivals around Scotland, and have shared the bill will groups such as the Treacherous Orchestra, Red Hot Chilli Pipers- (@Horse Cross & Perth Concert Hall), Colonel Mustard and the Dijon 5, The John Langan Band, Shooglenifty and The Levellers..
